Speakers of other languages encouraged to gain accreditation where possible.

There is an opportunity for students to take part in trips to France, Spain and Germany in the summer months.

Dedicated Foreign Language assistants offer opportunities to practise and develop spoken language in small groups and with a native speaker.

The Languages department is lively and forward-thinking.  Students will learn languages through a broad variety of activities both in the classroom and in the dedicated ICT suite.

At Outwood we aim to give every student the tools to understand and communicate in at least one foreign language.

In the classroom we give all students the opportunity to learn more about other cultures through our foreign language assistants, film, television clips, music and the internet, including our own languages website.
