Students follow a customised version of the National Curriculum Key stage 3 course, focusing on the fundamentals of ICT software applications and uses, in addition, students study the area of cyber bullying and e-safety in conjunction with other curriculum areas.

MS Academy – Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) MS Office 2010 Professional
A Microsoft Office Specialist is an industry standard user who has KS3 Students follow a customised version of the National Curriculum Key stage 3 course, focusing on the fundamentals of ICT software applications and uses, in addition, students study the area of cyber bullying and e-safety in conjunction with other curriculum areas.
OCR – Level 2 Qualifications - National 1st Award (1 GCSE Equivalence), National Award 2 GCSE Equivalence), National 1stCertificate 3 GCSE Equivalence).
The OCR Level 2 suite of qualifications are designed to: develop learner's knowledge and understanding of the Information and Communication Technology sector;develop learner's skills, knowledge and understanding in contexts that are directly relevant to employment situations, thereby enhancing their employability within the Information and Communication Technology sector,develop learner's ability to work autonomously and effectively in an Information and Communication Technology context.
KS5
A Level Applied ICT Single – provides an opportunity for learners to develop further as ICT end-users.End-users are those who use ICT, typically desktop applications, on a daily basis in a work role to enhance personal productivity, facilitate communication, enable collaborative working etc. (4 units c/w, 2 exams).
A Level Applied ICT Double(Inc. AS Single) – provides a foundation for development towards practitioner competence. ICT practitioners are those working in an ICT role, either in an IT organisation or in the IT department of a non-IT organisation. (9 unit’s c/w, 3 exams).
A Level ICT– develops theoretical concepts of a wide range of hardware, software and communication technologies and looking at the wider scope of the use of ICT. They will complete a project involving the production of an ICT-related system. (1 unit c/w, 3 exam).
Structure of the timetable across the key stages
KS3
Students are timetable for 1 hour of ICT in Year 7.
KS4
All students start the OCR National 1st Award in Year 8, finishing the 1st Award in year 9, all lessons last 1 hour, in Year 8& 9 (compulsory), Year 8 have 2 lessons, Year 9 have 1 lesson.
Year 10 - 11 (options OCR & MS Academy)
5 lessons -2 doublelessons &1 single lesson.
KS5
All courses at this level are timetabled for 5 * 1hour lessons per week.
Other Information
All courses are supported with after school catch up & enrichment activities between 2.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. throughout the week.
