At Outwood Grange Academy the students come first in every decision that is made.
We believe that students should be provided with appropriate information to make the best choices for their health and wellbeing. We recognise that healthy, happy young people will have the best chance to succeed in life as well as achieving the best possible academic and vocational qualifications. We understand that students will need access for support with a range of issues during the school day. We have made a number of services available to students on site to support their health & wellbeing. We also look to raise awareness of services which are available outside the Academy where young people and their families can get information, advice and guidance on matters of health and wellbeing.
Since 2008, we have been a Healthy School. This means we meet stringent national criteria for providing a healthy environment for young people in terms of healthy eating, exercise, emotional wellbeing and the provision of a strong PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education).
This year (2011) we intend to be assessed for the Investors in Pupils standard to run alongside the Investors in People award which we have held for 10 years.
