Teaching School: CPD

The Outwood Teaching School Alliance offers a range of professional development opportunities for teachers at all stages of their career, from trainee teachers through to executive head teachers, and for the education workforce, including business managers, learning support assistants and administrative staff.

The Outwood Teaching School Alliance consists of secondary, primary and special schools, higher education institutes and educational consultancy companies, who work together to improve life chances for young people. Outwood Grange Academy is at the hub of the Alliance, and has a team of over 40 Specialist Leaders in Education who provide expert, tailored advice and training.

Our facilities are centred around the Academy’s Business and Training Centre, which includes a purpose built conference theatre. We also have access to a computer suite with over thirty networked computers. All of our classrooms and training rooms have interactive whiteboards. Some of our current professional development opportunities are outlined below, and we are also able to deliver bespoke packages upon request.

Access Days

Access Days are offered to existing educational professionals who are interested in the structure and format of Outwood Grange Academy. Each day follows a slightly different agenda, depending upon the needs of delegates, but popular topics include curriculum, intervention strategies, teaching and learning and leadership. All sessions are delivered by teams of Specialist Leaders in Education and Senior Leaders from the Academy.

Transforming Middle Leaders
 
This is a bespoke course designed to focus on the key issues of middle leadership.

National College's Middle Leadership Development Programme

Outwood Grange Academy has 2 trained facilitators who deliver this nationally recognised training programme, designed to focus on leadership skills and narrowing the gap.

National College's Outstanding Teacher Programme

Outwood Grange Academy has 3 trained facilitators who deliver this nationally recognised training programme aimed at developing outstanding teachers.

National College's Improving Teacher Programme

Outwood Grange Academy has 3 trained facilitators who deliver this nationally recognised training programme aimed at moving teaching from satisfactory to good and outstanding.

Bespoke Opportunities

Contact us to discuss bespoke support from our team of Specialist Leaders of Education. Opportunities are far and wide; a sample includes department health checks, training sessions, visits to outstanding schools, coaching and mentoring support, new leader support.

Internal Programmes

The Teaching School is offering a programme of fifteen professional development courses, all delivered as twilights at the Academy.
