Connexions

1) ‘Connexions’ provides a service to students in the Academy throughout the school year.

2) The ‘Connexions’ Personal Advisers in the Academy are MRS NARGIS SHERAZ (for Intensive Support) and DR PAUL GREER (for Careers)

3) Paul is in the Academy on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS, and Nargis on WEDNESDAYS and ALTERNATE MONDAYS.

4) The Advisers are based in the ‘Connexions’ Room at the back of the LEARNING ZONE.

5) Appointments can be arranged through MRS BENTLEY, the Learning Zone Manager.

6) Parents or guardians are welcome to attend interviews.

7) Most discussions are reinforced with a written Action Plan.

8) Interviews are confidential, but the Academy normally receives copies of  Action Plans.

9) For most students, interviews with Personal Advisers do not happen automatically, and people should arrange their own through Mrs Bentley unless sure this is being done for them.

10) Outside of term-time, help with Careers or other matters is available through the Connexions Centres locally. Nargis and Paul are based at the one at 24, Wood Street, Wakefield (Tel: 01924 371579).

The Wakefield Centre is open from Monday-Friday throughout the year, but not at week-ends.
