As a parent/carer you are one of the biggest influences on decisions that your son/daughter will make about their future. You know them better than anyone so you can help in ways that no one else can.
After year 11 students will need to choose whether to carry on in full time education, start an apprenticeship or get a job with training. There are lots of exciting opportunities available but choice can be confusing so we are therefore inviting Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students, together with their parents/carers, to the Careers Evening on Wednesday 28 February. The evening will run from 4:30 – 7:00pm.
Making the right decision at Post 16 and 18 is a challenge for students and parents/carers alike therefore the evening is designed to provide as much information as possible about the different options that are available. There will be an opportunity to discuss options with a host of experts from Universities, Apprenticeships and the World of Work throughout the course of the evening. Both the presentations and the careers fair will be in the Arts Centre.
The evening includes bespoke presentations regarding Routes into Higher Education and Apprenticeships and will be accompanied by the opportunity to visit our Careers Fair. We are delighted that a range of employers and higher and further education establishments will be available to discuss Post 16 and 18 routes with students and parents/carers. The timings of the evening are as follows:
5.00 – 5.30pm Routes into Higher Education – Leeds Beckett University
Apprenticeships – Absolute Apprenticeships
Visitors are free to explore the Careers Fair
6.00 – 6.30pm
4.30 – 7.00pm
Parking will be available on site and colleagues will help direct you upon your arrival.
In order to plan effectively for the evening it is essential we have an accurate idea of the number of students and parents/carers who will be attending; please use the following link on Eventbrite and book your place.
